Cold cutting, in comparison to other cutting and stamping techniques, offers advantages which are intrinsic to the cold cutting process. Classical cutting technologies suffer from thermal effects and subsequent post-processing can be extremely complicated and demanding. On the other hand, water-jet cutting does not require deburring.
The water-jet cutting process with clean water can effortlessly cut any type of plastic materials, such as rubber, foam, laminated fabrics, laminated paper, leather, etc. up to a thickness of 20 mm and does not require re-tooling. The width of the kerf is 0.1 to 0.3 mm, at 4000 bar, depending on the nozzle used.
Materials:
Seal material (PU - rubber - plastic - laminated fabrics - laminated paper - wood - cardboard)
Thermo-plastics, thermo-set materials
Hard and soft foam materials
Carbon - Carbon fiber - fiberglass materials
etc.
Fields of application:
Mechanical engineering
Automobile industry
Plant engineering
Chemical industry
Electrical industry
Medical technology
Aviation
Construction
Materials research
Plastics industry
